The mixed martial artist is prepared to reclaim the UFC women's bantamweight championship belt in Friday night's fight against reigning champ Amanda Nunes, and she emanated intimidation at Thursday's weigh-in.

"Thank you everyone who came out to support at the weigh-ins today," Rousey, 29, posted on Instagram along with a picture of herself on the scale. "Looking forward to proving you all right tomorrow. It's going to be the happiest New Year ever."

Prior to the weigh-in, Rousey shared an impressive before and after glance at what she looked like ahead of her February 2015 fight with Cat Zingano and what she looks like now. The side by side shows an astonishing improvement in definition for a body that was already in peak condition.

The photo would suggest that Nunes will have her work cut out for her, as Rousey famously defeated Zingano in just 14 seconds when the two faced off at UFC 184.

Friday's fight will mark Rousey's return to the octagon after last year's devastating loss to Holly Holm, Rousey's only defeat as a professional fighter.

In February, Rousey admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that she was suicidal after the upset, but credited her boyfriend, fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne, for helping her deal with the situation.

"To be honest, I looked up, and I saw my man Travis was standing up there, and I looked up at him, and I was like, 'I need to have his babies, I need to stay alive,'" she laughed. "Really, that was it. ... I was meant to have him when I was at my lowest, for sure. I don't know if I would have made it without him."

In November, Rousey returned to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to announce this fight will be one of her last.
